The writing is on the wall
According to an article on Scout.com (via BuckeyePlanet), the adventurous recruitment of the country's top 2008 quarterback, Terrelle Pryor, is about to come to an end. Pryor led the Jeannette HS basketball team to a state title Saturday, and shortly thereafter stated that he will not take any more official visits and will decide his college choice within the next week.
Obviously, this must bode very well for the Buckeyes. I don't want to jump to any conclusions -- and remember, I'm not an insider by any means -- but the evidence seems to be mounting that the kid will be a Buckeye. First off, Pryor took official visits to neither Penn State nor Oregon, which was the sole reason he delayed his decision in the first place. Then, the kid goes and takes an unofficial visit on his own time and money to Columbus, which is roughly twice as far from Jeannette than Penn State. Now, as his basketball season is finally over, he quickly states that it's time to end his recruitment, a sign that his mind is essentially made up. It begs repeating, however, that I am not an insider, and this is purely speculation. The evidence just seems to all point towards Columbus. One piece of inside information I do have, however, is that Pryor was in fact set on choosing Ohio State the night before delaying his recruitment. The relevance of that at this point, though, is questionable (Source: A trusted teammate of '08 commits Jake Stoneburner and Mike Adams).
If Pryor does in fact become a Buckeye, and the writing is on the wall at this point, this will probably be Ohio State's highest touted recruiting class since the "Super Sophs" won the 1968 national championship.
