Devoe Torrence charged with rape
Four Canton-area residents were charged with the rape of minors during an 11 month period today. Of those four was former Ohio State football prospect Devoe Torrence, one time ranked as high as the #1 player in the state and a consensus 5-star athlete. Torrence, as many know by now, originally committed to Ohio State, until his offer was rescinded for undisclosed reasons. Rumors as to why began flying everywhere, but the most recurrent rumor involved a sex scandal with minors. As it turns out, that is exactly what happened to Devoe, and the reason that he is no longer a Buckeye and that Jermil Martin is. Also, this probably puts to rest any of the rumors that Torrence may eventually walk-on at Ohio State when his legal situation clears up.

Warning Appreciated (and Heeded), but ..
I'm just unbelievably grateful [too strong of a word, but couldn't think of a word with the right nuance -- relieved maybe?] that Coach T and the rest of the coaches caught wind of this and pulled the scholly... I saw some of the bemoaning about the offer being pulled from some fans... but this is a testament (sp?) to the coaches that they foresaw the problem and forestalled the dozens of newspaper articles, hundreds of blogs and years of adding Torrence to the MoC list. According to all the nasty fans of our rivals, we're all cheaters, cooler poopers and puppy killers... no need to add "young girl raping" to the list. And, I know that Torrence is innocent until proven guilty, but, had he been a member of the 2008 signing class, that innocent/guilty distinction would not have bothered other fanbases (and would have gotten us points in the Fulmer Cup).

BuckeyeBeau
as for BuckeyeBeau, I agree to an extent. But it would be an Ohio State issue if it occurred on Ohio State time. As of right now, he has no more of an affiliation than with any other school that recruited him.

Damn!
http://dealstudio.com/searchdeals.php?deal_id=92264&ru=279 , it is really terrible to see their pain and sadness. Even if they are celebrities or those talented players, they will be condemned, I think. And Torrence just did the terrible thing, so I think he deserves the judgement.
