Did Koufos or didn't he
Saw this story a few weeks back: Koufos
So any word on whether he actually signed with an agent yet? Is he gone? Did he withdraw from classes like the article states? Is he headed to Greece no matter what? And did Matta get that JC transfer to take his place?
Sean, pfef, you both have much better sources than I do so hopefully you have more info on this. And 5 more words makes 75 ....

As that article mentions...
The Canton Repository reported he had indeed withdrawn from classes. This Dispatch article confirms as much. That FoxSports story you links seems to confirm the buzz I’ve been hearing of late, that Koufos had indeed played his way into a guaranteed NBA contarct in the latter stages of the first round (which completely blows my mind; I, in no way, think the kid is ready for the grind of the league, but then again I said exactly the same thing this time last year with respect to Daequan). NBADraft.net, which is notorious for, let’s just say, borrowing source material from more reputable draft analysts, currently has him slotted in at #21 to the Nets. I imagine Greece was more of a contingency plan, should he slip into the 2nd Round or fail to land with a team willing to upgrade his contract (as say the Jazz did with C.J. Miles 3 years ago when he miffed his committment to Texas at the last second to throw his name in that hat but then stumbled into the 2nd half of the draft).

UPDATE!
From just 15 minutes ago. The “i” in official is finally dotted as the ink signs on the contract Koufos just inked with Cleveland-based NBA agent Mark Termini. Termini’s other inclients are the Cavs’ 3-point specialist Damon Jones, former Cav Ronald “Flip” Murray, Penn State product seldom-used Sixers bigman Calvin Booth, Miami heat backup center Earl Barron, and one-time Cav pointguard, sub 6’0” wunderkind Earl Boykins.

Yep, he's gone
The question now is what his departure will do to the team’s APR. I read somewhere that his mom said it won’t hurt anything, but I’ll believe that when I see it. Just another reason to switch to semesters (see this FanShot). If classes were over with time left to prepare for the draft, maybe guys wouldn’t drop out and hurt the APR. Probably not, but maybe.

He was told to either drop out before the new quarter began or not to leave at all.
Instead, he began the quarterr and decided to drop out after a few weeks. Hopefully, the NCAA understand the situation and pardons us again.

that sucks
i was really looking forward to him and mullins. that would have made an amazing combo with two 7 footers that can shoot long-range. Koufos, in my opinion, is not ready for the NBA. I think that he needs one more year or two.
